Our Approach

Given our extensive experience in Education we are passionate about neuroscience and learning and are driven by the privelge of having the opportunity to facilitate meaningful change. Our approach to ensure effective learning takes place is underpinned by the AGES model.

 

Attention: is a precious commodity and we tend to lose our attention after 20 minutes so we chunk up the learning material and change the focus regularly. We encourage our learners to avoid 'multitasking' as it undermines the learning experience. 

 

Generation: for learning to stick one has to be actively involved and create or generate rather than sit passively and listen or watch.

 

Emotion: learning is enhanced when one experiences positive emotion. This leads to the release of dopamine which is an important neurotransmitter that is responsible for pattern recognition.

Spacing: having learning organised over time is best for retention rather than it being condensed into one day. Learning periods followed by sleep or a lay off shows best retention rates later.
